Welcome to Starling Class!

 Year 1 & Year 2

Class Teachers: Mrs Gardiner (Monday-Thursday) Mrs Stanley (Friday)

Teaching Assistants: Mrs Stone, Miss Murray & Mrs Carpenter

This page will be used for other activities, links and resources that are not necessarily timetabled weekly but that you may wish to try. You will find sections for Science, PSHE (to support wellbeing), Music, PE and Reading.

Reading Books will be changed every Monday and Thursday once read to an adult -please ensure books and reading records are sent in daily. Please read each book more than once.

Less fluent readers should read the first time for decoding, second time for fluency and a third time for comprehension. This may be a sentence or a page at a time.

Our spelling tests will take place each Monday -please practise spellings and the rules which the children will be learning in our phonics sessions and ensure spelling books are sent in each week. The spelling list for each current week will be listed below in case your child is absent when they are given out or they are mislaid.

PE sessions will take place each Tuesday & Wednesday-children will need to bring in their kit in at the start of the week and it can be taken home again at the end of the week for washing or left on pegs until the end of half term whichever you prefer!
