Phonics

At Ashcott School we follow the Twinkl Phonics Scheme which is validated by the DfE.  To support this approach we use a variety of resources and materials which we feel work well with the children in our school. There are lots of resources and games on the Espresso website - click here (a log-in can be obtained from the school office if you don't already have one). Please read the handout from the parents' phonics evening.

We are very proud of our consistent, effective phonics teaching at Ashcott school for the past 5 years, with above national averages, exceeding the threshold in the phonics check at the end of Year 1 every year.
